I climbed to the crest,
in fog-festooned,
the sun lay west,
like a crimson wound.
Like the wound of mine,
of which none knew,
for i’d given no sign,
that it pierced right through.
- Thomas Hardy
Saw this poem in Page One, at Vivo City… and I just can’t help wondering how many people out there are suffering in silence…

What do you do when you have five hours in a bus? Well, this is experimental, but I decided to write about it during the moments that I do not drift into sleep…

Trip 2 KL
This has got to be the 1st time I’m doing a KL trip by bus in years!
Waking up at 0545 to catch a 0730 bus seems like a new experience all over again.
Well, it is a new experience actually. I’ve never taken a first class bus before. I knew they existed, just never saw the inside of one till today.
Every seat is a window seat on this transtar bus! Maybe I’m ’sua ku’, but omfg WOW!
I’m on the AYE now and it’s a comfy ride so far. I’m just wondering how many pee breaks I will get and if I should drink that complimentary bottle of water.
-
I’ve just crossed the 2nd link and emptied my bladder at the last clean toilet.
The bus almost left me behind while I was taking a fag. That wasn’t a good moment for me.
The view across the bridge is fantastic, I’ve never taken i bus across the 2nd link in daylight before.
Still, I can’t help wondering when the next pee break will come. I think I’ll pass on the bottled water.
This guy dressed in suit is starting to serve my meal now. Hmmm… Meal on a bus, served to you. This has gotta be a first. I wonder if they do this in other parts of the world.
Rice with 1 soggy fried spring roll, some tofu stir fried with prawns that taste like marshmellows and stir fried veggies that taste steamed. I’m not fussy. It should taste good if I’ve been starving for a week. They should have just served sandwiches, at least that’s a pretty fail-safe food. Well, at least they serve chinese tea. I can’t wait to have that served to clear my palette.
The service is pretty good though, the guy in suit is still serving enthusiastically. The ride is smooth, for a bus, but if this was a plane, we’d all be strapped to our seats. He must be miserable.
-
I’ve just discovered I can raise my legs with the press of a button. This is so cool! I’m trying the massager now. It’s just a vibrating chair. I wonder if its vibrations will cancel out the bus’ own vibration give me a smoother ride.
-
A break at Pagoh. Very good. I would have done the same. It would be about another 1h 30mins before we hit KL.
The in-house entertainment ain’t that great. Every movie I tried was jerky. Catching some sleep is what I’d recommend.
-
After five hours, I’m finally at the Pasarakyat Terminal. A ridiculous RM$20 rip off from the cabby who did not know the way, I arrived at the clients’ place on time.
—
Five hours and a meeting later, it is the same ‘ol thing… in reverse…
—
Trip fr KL
The meeting is over. Phew! I’ve got an hour to kill b4 the bus. I wonder how? A massage sounds like a plan.
-
I’m now on the Aeroline bus. Not as good as Transtar for sure. There are 3 seats to a row. Wonder which clown will end up sitting next to me. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. The seats are less comfortable too. But I think I’ll be able to sleep. Wonder where their pee break is and what strange food they’re going to serve. I’ve not had anything since this morning’s crappy bus food.
-
There’s a toilet on the bus!
-
After about an hour in the KL jam, we’re finally on the north south. Those clowns in the front have gotten their food. Smells nice. Wonder what’s being served.
-
Mushroom pasta and Char Siew Bao. What in off combo and the guy didn’t give me fork and spoon!
The pasta was all caked up, like some sort of a pasta curd with mushrooms and capsicums on top and the bao was just over nuked. Oh well, I’m just gonna slide back to sleep after the coffee.
-
Pagoh seems to be the regular stop for these types of buses. I could have slept through though. No pee this trip.
-
4.5 hours later, I’m now at the Malaysian customs. Wonder what’s taking the cup so long to move. Argh! I need a drink!
-
5.5 hours later, I’m finally at the Harbour Front! Argh! Home at last… another 20 minutes on the cab and I’m home!
What a day!

Ikea snake - S$1.90, Ikea penguin/ostrich pariah - S$8.00, making your pet dog look stupid… pirceless.

The cafe at Changi Beach Club has been up for awhile and I’ve just decided to check it out.
There ain’t nothing like a beer after a swim. Wonder why I’ve not been doing it.
A glass of Carlsberg for S$4.50 is a relatively affordable way of replenishing lost carbo. I think I just might stick to this routine… heh heh…

It was my first time in Vivo City last night. It’s a nice place, but I’m not particularly impressed by it. I mean, being the biggest shopping mall in Singapore is just about it. Big.I think Sentosa looks nicer at night anyway.
It was crowded however, considering it being a Friday night, not that crowded. The food outlets were packed though. It was as if Singaporeans are a bunch of hungry ghosts!
To add on to this experience, I caught one of the most boring show in recent history. A Mexican film by the name of Vera.
The plot summary from imdb.com goes something like that:
The story of an android that raises alive in the deepest caves of the mayan zone in México and meets and old dying man. They will stablish a spiritual bond than enlightens the old mayan and helps him to release himself out of his withered body.
Well, I was withering in my seat for a good 90 minutes and would have walked out if not the fact that I was right in the middle, sandwiched by five people on either side.
There was no dialogue, no soundtrack and a lot of poor acting. This was indeed a cutting edge movie.
