I’ve been reading about this being a hit in Europe since bluetooth became a standard mobile phone feature. It was then known as bluejacking.
In it’s most primitive way, it involves sending an anonymous greeting to another bluetooth enabled phone within range. This greetings will have to be sent in the form of a business card since most mobile phones do not allow you to send messages via bluetooth.
To find out how, click here.
A slightly more advanced method of bluejacking can be done in the newer phones. Use the phones voice recorder to record your message and have it sent via bluetooth to your target. It can be fun too!
You can also send pictures. Create a picture like the one on the left and send it to your target via bluetooth. It gives basic steps for its recipient to reply you. Perhaps someone might entertain you with a reply!
There are also java applications that have been developed to make mobile socialising easier. These are known as mobile socialising softwares (Mososo).
They are small applications that you install into your mobile phone. It enables you to chat via bluetooth. Here are some that are free to use and seems to work pretty well too.
1) Chat2U, a final year project by some student.
2) SMOB, a personal project.
3) BlueChat, another personal project.
4) Nokia Sensor, only for Symbian phones though
The only catch with these Mososo are that the other party must be using a similar a application, and that not all phones are supported. Do download them and check it out.
I’m really curious about how well the Singapore mobile phone community receives this. Some possible uses that for Mososo that I can think of are:
1) Cheating in class tests and exams. (Damn! I wish they had this when I was studying!)
2) Entertaining each other during a meeting where your boss gives one of those damn long speeches.
It is better than SMS because using bluetooth does not cost any money! Please download one of these Mososo and try it out. Drop me a comment. I’d like to see your views too!
I have them installed in my phone. It would be a nice surprise if we should end up chatting via bluetooth.

Kudos to Singapore for condemning the recent suicide attack on Tel Aviv. We don’t really want that to happen here either. Better to criticise it so that other people will know that we would be pissed if they suicide bomb us.
I mean, innocent people were killed in this attack, for goodness sake… ur wait a minute, shouldn’t we also criticise Israel for their air strikes then? I mean innocents were killed too!
In fact, I think their single air strike usually cause more casualties than a single suicide bomber. The only difference is, the Israeli attackers usually go home alive and in time for dinner.
Condemning the Palestinians while looking the other way when the Israelis attack isn’t going to help. Shouldn’t we either shut our trap or be more consistent with our condemnations?

Tonight I think I’ll freedom fight,
For the captive sharks of Indochine.
Shark lovers of the world unite,
These sharks die while people dine.
A petition is underway,
Don’t hesitate, it’s a click away.
It is just a simply petition,
We hope the owner will take some action.
Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls. Sharks have a high chance of dying before they reach maturity when they are kept in a small tank.
I feel that Indochine is a lovely place and really do not need the sharks to enhance its overall ambience.
Let’s hope the owner of Indochine, Wisma Atria gets this message and put these sharks in safer hands.
Sign the petition here.

This has got to be the coolest invention of all times… if you’re a paranoid boyfriend or husband.
Get a load of this, a panty with an embedded GPS receiver and sensors that monitor temperature and heart rate. It also sends ‘live’ data to your PC or mobile devices so that you know where your partner is and um… well… shall I say, how she is feeling.
So, if your partner is in a hotel, her temperature is rising and heart rate increasing… and you’re not anywhere near… well, time to give her a call…
With the Forget-Me-Not panties, chastity belts are so yesterday’s news!
Be discreet, it is unintrusive and she doesn’t even know that she’s being tracked. With this, you can truly stalk like a pro.

Today, our DPM decided that our election system is transparent and that we do not need international monitors to check on it.
Y’know what? I so totally agree with that. We really have the most transparent election system in the democratic world. In fact, we are so transparent, I can hardly see any election coming my way.
I can confidently say that this will likely be the second or third election that I do not have to vote in. (I can’t remember, cos no need to vote.) Yay!
I’ll bet Singapore is the only democratic nation in the world with the most number of people that never had to vote in their entire life. Guess what? Here’s another world’s first. Hooray Singapore!
