The night the lights went out…

Where was I the night the lights in half of Singapore went out? Hmmm… at a Jalan Kayu prata place having kopi-cino.

Figured that since this is a totally rare experience, I’d better document it so… here’s the picture on a dark 29 June 2004. Where the only available lighting was… candle light. (Photographed by Casey.)

I have recently learnt that…

…there is a difference bewteen “Hot Lemon Tea” and “teh-o with a slice of lemon”.

Teh-O with a slice of lemon costs 40cents less.

Go figure!

Vesak Day… a belated post…

Well, by the time you finished saying “Vesak Day”, the large crowds in temples (if you’ve been to one) would have flashed past your mind countless times… not for me!

I went for a swim and Changi Beach Club with Pam and Sophia. Fantastic. A 1.5km swim in the morning is always a preferred start to a day. Especially if it is a day of rest… PUBLIC HOLIDAY!

After the swim, Pam decided that she wanted sea water and Sophia wanted a tan.(Remind me to talk about women and the sun) Pam suggested going to east coast park. This idea then evolved into one of grander scale which involved me driving from Changi to Sentosa.

After a delcioult sinful waffle with ice cream, a call to Mr Kelvin Aw (to let him know what he is missing) kicked off the Sentosa escapade. We went to Tanjung Beach where an hour of sun, sand and sea seem to be more than enough for everyone.

We then drove around Sentosa looking for a cafe place… this was found in the Delifrance cafe at Siloso beach. A good place to chill out.
